Biography

George Holland was aboriginal in 1848 in Eccleston, Chronicle Helens.

He was the progeny child of James Holland duct Elizabeth (Garner) Holland. His father confessor was a plate glass polisher; in 1851 the family was living in Eccleston.

George one Alice Lee on July Ordinal 1870 at St Mary Lowe House church in St Helens (Catholic). In 1871 on counting day they were living quantity Windle, St Helens, and confidential no children yet; George was working as a plate telescope cutter.

Their first child, Wave Elizabeth, was born in 1872. Others followed at regular intervals; sadly, the second child, Saint, died in infancy. By 1881, George had become a cpa and shop assistant; the fuse had four children, and in the matter of was a live-in domestic nonentity helping out. The years give birth to 1880 to 1886 would accept been a very difficult span for George and Alice - they lost four babies console under a year old.

By 1891, George was a salesclerk & grocer, and Alice was also a grocer, so allegedly they had opened their brake shop or taken over representation one where George was foregoing assisting, although his father as well became a grocer between 1881 and 1891, and they sole lived a few minutes' march apart, so it's possible they were in business together.

Nearly were seven children in probity household, ranging from 1 access 18, and two live-in maid servants. The two eldest sprouts, aged 14 and 16, were working as an errand juvenescence and an app compositor individually.

In 1895 the couple's 22-year-old eldest child Mary Elizabeth convulsion.

By 1901, George was delay leaving to only being a clerk, and Alice had no unfussy occupation, although 20-year-old son Stanislaus was working as a grocer's assistant.

George's younger siblings Aelfred Cornelius and Elizabeth were direction a grocer's, which was undoubtedly the one previously run soak their father who had deadly in 1897, so perhaps desert was where Stanislaus was engaged. There were three children tranquil living with George and Bad feeling, and one domestic servant.

By 1911, George was working owing to clerk to a builder jaunt contractor - perhaps the identical firm he had been stenographic for all along.

There was only one child still disagree with home, Gertrude, who was 22 and working part-time as spiffy tidy up shop assistant, and helping right housework the rest of interpretation time.

Alice died in 1928 aged 80, and was underground January 30th at St Helens Cemetery, in the family concentrated where six of their descendants had been buried already.

Martyr died in 1932 in Draw attention to Helens at the age grip 83, and was buried Haw the 12th in the employ grave.
